Why a washer-disinfector?

Automate the manual stages before sterilisation

Before instruments can be sterilised, they need to be cleaned, decontaminated, disinfected and dried. Done manually, that process is time-consuming and exposes staff to contaminated sharps. A washer-disinfector handles all four stages automatically, with a validated cycle that meets EN ISO 15883-1/2.

Reduces operator risk

Instruments go in dirty and come out clean, disinfected and dry. Staff handle them only once contamination has been removed, reducing sharps exposure during reprocessing.

Validated to EN ISO 15883

Each cycle records the thermal disinfection value (A0) achieved, providing a traceable record of compliance for CQC inspections and infection control audits.

Frees up clinical time

A 35-minute automatic cycle replaces the manual prewash, ultrasonic cleaning, disinfection and drying steps — releasing nursing staff to focus on patient-facing work.

The Tethys H10 Plus combines all four stages — decontamination, ultrasonic washing, thermal disinfection and hot air drying — in one compact, table-top unit designed for dental practices.

Built for clinical workflow

Six reasons it earns its place on the bench

Designed by Mocom in Italy for surgeries that need a complete reprocessing solution in a footprint smaller than most autoclaves.

Automatic

Load the basket, choose a programme, walk away. Decontamination, washing, disinfection and drying run autonomously, removing the variability that comes with manual reprocessing.

Safe

Contaminated instruments are handled only once, on loading. The cycle eliminates the need for manual scrubbing, reducing sharps exposure and the risk of cross-contamination.

Time-efficient

A complete cycle runs in 35 minutes — replacing the prewash, ultrasonic bath, disinfection and drying steps that would otherwise tie up a nurse for the duration.

Fast

The standard D90 disinfection cycle delivers an A0 of 3,000 in just 41 minutes total — well above the A0 = 600 required for instruments contacting mucous membranes.

Complete

Integrated decalcification, detergent reservoir, charging pump, drain pump, Aqua-Stop and HEPA filter — everything a benchtop washer-disinfector needs, with nothing to add later.

Simple to operate

Colour touchscreen with pre-configured programmes for routine use, plus customisable cycles for specific needs. Multi-user PIN system tracks who ran which cycle.

How a cycle works

Four phases, one automated cycle

A standard D90 cycle takes 41 minutes from start to finish. The operator loads the basket, selects a programme, and the machine handles the rest.

1

Decontamination

Cold prewash · 25°C

A rotating spray prewash at low temperature loosens organic residues before any heat is applied. This prevents proteins from fixing to instrument surfaces during the higher-temperature phases that follow.

2

Ultrasonic washing

With detergent · 45°C

Ultrasonic cavitation reaches the surfaces a spray cannot — hinges, serrations, lumens. Followed by a triple spray rinse to flush detergent and dislodged contamination from the chamber.

3

Thermal disinfection

Hot water · 90°C

A recirculating heating circuit holds instruments at 90°C to deliver an A0 of 3,000 — sufficient for instruments contacting mucous membranes per EN ISO 15883-1/2.

4

Hot air drying

HEPA filtered air

Heated, HEPA-filtered air dries instruments before the door unlocks. Items are ready for inspection, packaging and sterilisation without manual towel-drying.

What sets it apart

Engineering choices that show up in daily use

Three details that separate the Tethys H10 Plus from the typical bench washer-disinfector — the ones that make a difference over the lifetime of the machine, not just on the spec sheet.

Only in its class

Integrated decalcification system

The Tethys H10 Plus is the only benchtop washer-disinfector in its category with a built-in ion-exchange decalcifier. Hard water deposits — the cause of staining, corrosion and progressive wear in instrument-cleaning equipment — are filtered out before water reaches the chamber.

Maintenance is straightforward: refill the salt reservoir with standard dishwasher salt when prompted on the touchscreen. The electronic control system manages regeneration cycles automatically.

  • Prevents limescale buildup in the water circuit
  • Keeps instruments stain-free and corrosion-resistant over time
  • Refilled with standard kitchen or dishwasher salt

Rotating spray nozzle

Spray washing in most benchtop washer-disinfectors is fixed-angle, leaving inconsistent coverage across the load. The Tethys H10 Plus uses a rotating nozzle — a system more typical of industrial CSSDs — to deliver consistent water and detergent pressure across every part of the chamber.

The result is uniform thermal distribution during the disinfection phase and complete residue removal during rinsing, regardless of how the basket is loaded.

  • Even coverage across the full load
  • Consistent thermal distribution at 90°C
  • Higher mechanical removal force than fixed-jet systems
The "Plus" upgrade

HMD handpiece thermal disinfector

The H10 Plus includes the Handpiece Module — a dedicated cycle and adapter set that lets the same machine wash, disinfect and dry up to six handpieces in a single 34-minute run. This is what makes the H10 Plus a complete reprocessing solution rather than just an instrument washer.

Adapters are available for turbines, micromotor handpieces and scaler tips (up to three at a time). The dedicated handpiece cycle skips the ultrasonic phase to protect internal handpiece bearings, while still meeting EN ISO 15883-1/2 thermal disinfection requirements.

  • Up to 6 turbines or micromotor handpieces per cycle
  • Up to 3 scaler tips per cycle
  • 34-minute cycle, no ultrasonic phase
  • Verified to EN 15883-1 and EN 15883-2 for external surfaces

Common questions

Before you order

How long after I order will it arrive?

Lead time from order to delivery is 2–4 weeks. We'll confirm the exact delivery date with you once your order is placed.

Delivery is to UK mainland addresses by pallet courier.

Do I need an engineer to install it?

We strongly recommend it. Installation involves connecting the unit to your mains water and drain, configuring the system, and running an initial validation cycle — it's not a plug-in-and-go job.

Our engineers handle every stage of the install and hand the unit over ready for routine use. Contact us for an installation quote tailored to your practice.

Does this replace my autoclave?

No. A washer-disinfector and an autoclave do different jobs. The Tethys H10 Plus cleans, disinfects and dries instruments to an A0 of 3,000 — the stage before sterilisation. An autoclave then sterilises clean instruments using saturated steam.

In a fully compliant workflow, instruments go: washer-disinfector → inspection and packaging → autoclave → storage. The Tethys replaces the manual prewash, ultrasonic bath and disinfection steps; it does not replace the autoclave.
